The Scottish professional committed himself to the “City of Queens” for three years.
 

We would like to inform the public and basketball fans that the new head coach of the Veszprém Basketball Club will be Alexander Geddes, starting with the 2023/24 season. The Scottish professional has signed a three-year contract with Veszprém Basketball Ltd.
 
He is considered to be among the most talented young European coaches. This is evidenced by the fact that he is the operations manager of the Euroleague Head Coaches Board, and during his career he worked with such coaches as Zeljko Obradovic, the current head coach of Partizan, and Pablo Laso, the recent head coach of Real Madrid. The participants of the Next Level Camp of Athlete Plus Veszprém already know him well, as he was one of the main coaches of the April camp.
 
Miklós Naményi, the president of the club, said the following about the new head coach of the team: "Alex Geddes introduced himself to us during the spring Next Level Camp we organized together with Athlete Plus. Despite his young age, he has vast knowledge. But I think that anyone who spends their everyday with a coaching phenomenon like Zeljko Obradovic inevitably gains knowledge from the coaching profession. Alex's character and dedication have earned him a position at the management of the Euroleague Head Coaches Board, despite being twenty-three years old! For me, the four days we spent together here in Veszprém were very convincing, both personally and professionally. I am sure that with the help of Alex, the Hungarian basketball can also benefit from his extensive network."
 
The newly appointed head coach of Veszprém, Alexander Geddes gave the next statement after the agreement: "It is always a privilege and an honor when you are afforded the opportunity to share your basketball and there is no greater honor than to be trusted to lead a club and a group of players into the future. I have been granted so many immense opportunities to learn from the best coaches in European Basketball, I feel an obligation to pass that learning and knowledge on to whoever I can. Miklós (Naményi) vision for the future of the club is something that very much excites me and it is that vision that sold me to commit to the club for the next 3 seasons. I look forward to bringing my Scottish heart and soul and my Serbian basketball brain to the club and help to build a program that will bring the success that the loyal fans of the club and the people of the City of Veszprém can be proud of. Together we can achieve anything!"
