One of the best basketball academies of Europe in Veszprém

As of today, the Canarias Basketball Academy will provide one of the best high performance basketball programs of the continent for the Hungarian and foreign youngsters in Veszprém.
 
During a press conference held in Veszprém, Hungary it was officially announced that the Pannon Basketball Management Ltd. signed a long-term strategy agreement with Canarias Basketball Academy (CBA), one of the best and most successful basketball academies in the world, based in Tenerife, Spain. Thanks to this partnership, members of the CBA coaching staff cooperating with Hungarian coaches will provide one of the best basketball programs of the continent in Veszprém for chosen talents coming from all around the world.
 


The Canarias Basketball Academy was established by Rob Orellana in 2007, after being coach for fifteen years at the NCAA Divison 1 level and three years internationally. More than one-hundred-twenty NCAA Division 1 players were working together with him and improved thanks to his very complete and effective all-around basketball training method for individuals.
 
In its twelve-year long history so far, the CBA sent more than one-hundred-seventy basketball players to colleges and universities in the USA and top European teams. From the former students of the academy you can now find thirty-three players in the United States, nineteen in the Spanish professional leagues and twenty-six in different professional leagues around the world. For example, two of them have signed by Barcelona in the last two years.  
 
And this outstanding program will be available in Veszprém from now on.
 
The CEO of Pannon Basketball Management Ltd., Miklós Naményi was talking about the background of the negotiations prior to the agreement. Their long-time plan was to ensure the self-sustainability of their organization because if one day the governmental support of youth system would be over then the basketball in Veszprém would be still alive. He added that this relationship with CBA is the result of a half year long hard work. Finally, he emphasized that the basketball world is now open for this city thanks to the relationships of the academy and the talents working here will be able to continue their career anywhere on the planet.  
 
Rob Orellana, the founder and managing director of Canarias Basketball Academy introduced shortly his organization and explained why he decided to establish the CBA Veszprém joint-venture. He said it was a main goal for them to extend their academy and they chose Veszprém, Hungary as a place for that. There are already twelve years behind them and during this time seven-hundred basketball players from thirty-five countries got improved in their academy. He emphasized that Veszprém is a very important part of their program because all the conditions are given here to achieve successes. The academy provides a head coach for this project: the former professional player and long-time CBA coach Arvydas Straupis.
 

The sports director of Pannon Basketball Management Ltd., Levente Csorvási informed the people about the conditions and facilities supplied for the young athletes moreover the common projects with the central CBA. He said this academy system is a huge value for this city and country because the youngsters can get here a knowledge that will be beneficial for them in their all life. He emphasized that the parents should not be worried about their children because thanks to the scholarship system not just the housing and meals but the schooling will be provided. It means if some of them would not become a professional athlete at the end they will still have graduation and speak foreign languages. He added that the trainings will be in three local sports hall and a special functional gym.  
 
The technical director and head coach of CBA Veszprém will be Arvydas Straupis, a long time coach at the Canarias Basketball Academy. He gave us details of what to expect from the development system. He said the young players will be able to train every single day, even in weekends. He emphasized that their main goal is not to send the players to competitions and win games but to bring out the maximum from the players individually in order to make them ready to play in top basketball clubs in the future.
 
At the end of the press conference, two of the first young talents of CBA Veszprém, Flórián Bruder from Hungary and Assane Mbaye from Senegal joined to the management for a group picture. They can already take part in the special program of Canarias Basketball Academy and work hard in order to achieve their basketball dreams.
